Too much flow, Can it be??

Okay I have a 75gal with some zoos, LPS, and one piece of SPS. I have a maxi jet 400 and a maxi jet 900 that I just performed the sure flow mod on. It is crazy in the tank and I wanted to know if that is way to much flow for a 75?
I have them in the back pointing at each other and it is brining up all kinds of crap which I guess is good. However my little maroon clown is getting blown around and all my zoos are getting swished. Will the corals adapt to that much flow or should I convert one back to normal?
Pleas let me know, my wife feels bad for everything in the tank not to mention the tank is ugly know from all the crap being blown around.
Thanks for your help

thats a good thing, your creating random nonlinear flow all that crap thats getting kicked up is the stuff that shouldnt have settled in the first place. I think your on the right track. soft and hard corals adapt to the flow environment they are in fairly readily, LPS are the only ones you really have to worry about when it comes to damaging them with flow. (this is a little over simplified but I hope you understand what I'm saying)

just so you know I have 2 maxi 1200s and a maxi 600 (I think its a 6 could be a little bigger) and a a couple no name powerheads, plus a rio 2500 return in my 75g and I actually wonder if its enough.

Cool thanks, I have a kenya tree know that I guess I have to move now since it is kind of rought there. I can not beleive the flow those mods put it. I knew it was a lot but it makes my 75 look really small now.
Hey question for you reefkrps, I have a peach monti frag. Where is a good location? Up top or anywhere with good flow. I have the Tx 5

i have 2 seio 1100's and my mag 9.5 on retunr running thru two penductors and my flow is good
play with the aim on them some. maybe try one low pointing up and one high angled down on oppisite sides of the tank
mine meeta in the middle and occasionally can cause a bubble to get drug down in a vortex

IMO with the peach monti I would go anywhere in the arc of middle center to higher and fading up from the middle the further out of center you go. you could probably go lower but if you want the best growth use the arc pattern described above

Thanks for all your help. I am done for the night but my only concern now is it always blows sand around, not to much but it does and my torch seems to get blown alot too. I will see how everything looks tomorrow when I get home from work and hopefully everything is happier than ever. I can say my zoos and frogspawn look happier already.

I just crunched the numbers on my 55g and I came up with a turnover rate of close to 38 times. I'm looking at 2700 gph moving around a 55g and a 15g fuge and all my zoos and soft corals are happy and growing. I think its all about placement, if all the flow is in one direation you can make a mess. IMO it sounds like you are doing fine, you just have to play with the placement of everything. I moved my MJ900 w/ sureflow mod all over the tank before I found a spot I liked.

I am getting around 36x Turnover in my 180...I knew it was getting good flow when my little clown swam right by a Koralia 4 and it shot him about half way across the tank only to get blown back to the otherside...Poor little guy...Maybe thats why he stays in the overflow..

lol, poor little guy, my fish swim into the flow then ride it across my tank.

Well I feel better. It's just I am tired of the sand getting blown all over the place.
My clown will ride the current like a treadmill then decide to get shot across the tank then back for more.
I guess the current really is not that bad except like I said the sand getting blown everywhere but I will keep playing with placement and hopefully I can get back to a clear tank. I also need to re aquascape that might help some too but man that is a pain. Right now I have them in the back of the tank blowing at each other. I do get some nice non linear flow as can be seen by my torch blowing in the breeze and my corals do look better so I will keep playing till I get off the sand and if I can keep my goby from stirring up sand also
!
Thanks
