Too much flow?

I just added a small clown & he seems to be struggling to swim in my 72 tank. The problem is my Koralia powerhead which pushes 1200 GPH. I know having current is important in a reef tank but how bout a FOWLER. Also, if I need current what should I do? It turned off the pump & the clown immediately seemed more @ ease & started swimming around the tank freely. Any suggestions? Should I go with (2) smaller powerheads? LMK

1200 gph for a 72 isnt too much. but if ur clown is showing stress due to the flow, then go with less flow or try redirect ur powerhead.

i have a 800 gph sump pump with 2 #4 koralias in my 90 with no issues .
one of my shrimp hangs out on one of them.
how much rock do you have to divert some of the flow?
i have well over 100 lbs in there so the fish can swim in and out of the current as they want to .

Just point your koralia at different walls(which is the glass) and see what works out the best. Remember you need good flow throughout the tank.
