Too much light?

Hello! I've been wanting to get into more SPS in tank and recently bought a small Acropora frag at a lps. I have 2 Kessil 160s over a 55 gal tank. Knowing that they need high lighting and flow, I placed it high on the rocks, directly under one of the lights.

The coral is kinda an ugly poopy brown but it was only $10 and I thought it would be a good one to try since I am fairly new to SPS. The itty biity polyps have been extending and looking fairly nice. Today I was moving a coral in my tank and accidentally knocked the acro off it's rock and when I went to reattach it, I noticed that the spots that were getting direct light was considerably lighter in color than underneath the branches where it was getting less light.

My question is this; is this normal or am I killing the thing? Could it be that it was just getting too much light? I moved it just in case (sal: 1.025, Amm: 0 ppm, Nit: 0 ppm, pH: 8.2, 9 DKH, cal: 500 ppm)
