Too Much Light?

Ok so I read a bunch of stuff on lighting and know I know the basics and want to buy. But from what I was reading for my 75 gallon tank I should have only 225-375 watts of lighting. I was looking at a ballast that had 4 slots and putting 2 coral life VHO 10,000k 110w bulbs and 2 coral life Actinc 03 110w bulbs in it. The total equals 440 watts Is this going to be to much light? or will it not matter that much?

Well Tom with the funny screen name :D
What are you going to be keeping in the tank? From what I've learned on the board, there's really no such thing as "too much light"

No real need for all that light right now. Once you turn it into a reef tank then I saw go for it.

Actually 440w in a 75g is only 5.8w per gallon. Just fine for softies it could be fine for hard corals I'm not to sure cause I'm not that experenced with them.
I'm currently running 2 175w MH's and 4 65w pc's thats 610w of light on a 90g. That is 6.7w per gallon.
You will find some people have a lot more than that. It really depends on what you want to keep.
