I Sold my house and will not be moving to my new home for 3 months. I have a 150 reef and have started bringing my reef back to the fish store!! In my new home I will have the tank in the main living room. SO I would like to try to do a tank with 1-2 sharks. SO, with the fact i am a long time REEFER this sounds fun, but maybe not a good idea as 150 might not be a good size. but LFS said i would just have to trade fish every year or so our go bigger.
Any ideas on the shark idea??

sorry to brake it to you but a 150 gallon wont do
a 180 is a minimum for a coral cat shark a 300-500 would be preferable

yeah.. even with a 180 itd be a 1 shark MAX.. sharks are very cool.. but they really take a lot of room and someone who's willing to spend the money on a pretty innactive tank its cheaper than reef.. but its also less colorful, if you were to go with like a 200, you could get a shark and ray and a couple more active fish and then it might be a little more worth doing, but a 150 is really not gonna cut it, and haveing a shark for only one year is pointless b/c baby sharks arnt half as cool as the adults and its when there big that you want them.. Just my two cents hope it helps!

I would definitely recommend against a shark in a 150, and honestly in anything under a 220 gallon tank.

Thanks, I will be asking LFS to trade my 150 set up out for 210-220 and pay the diff. he has done it before and he is smart because he knows bigger tank means more sales!! SO again thanks for the 411. he has a tiger or was it a leopard shark, cant remember but is was active and really nice. in a 500g and wow talk about tank envy. But My current reef set up was around $13000, My CPA totaled up all my taxes over the years and I am on the fence about changing it out. But no home, and no place to put the tank for 3 months is a had decision to make.

You spent $13000 on your 150 reef or its worth that? Also what do taxes have to do with a reef tank or was the comma ment to be a peroid. Im not tring to be a smart a** but im confused.

i had the tank in my office so it was a business expense when i started. but I was shocked at what i have spent, but was everything the CPA wrote off, food, salt water ect over the years. But I took it down today and it was a 14 hour mess. but i'm looking at a 220 gal for the shark tank. i think it will be very cool for my living room in my new house, and a little less work and time. so thanks for the comments.
