sweet pics
i love the color of that scolymia, my lfs had one similar to it, but i just dont have the space anymore (depressing problem). the monti looks cool too. did you get it as a frag, and if so how long did it take for it to start wrapping and forming a "cup?"

Nice job and nice pics!
About your white pvc returns, there is a lot, and IMO it takes away from your beautiful tank. What about doing black PVC pipe?
LOVE your monti!

I echo Az - love the Monti.
I was also getting stuck on the white PVC's. I used Krylon Fusion to paint my white areas - I read a ton about what would be safe - found it to be the most recommended. Definitely didn't have any neg effect.

well for some of you that have not been keeping up with my upgrade thread in the DiY section, i am in the middle of building a canopy. the canopy will drop down about 2 " from the top of the tank so that will cover all but a smidge of the outlets. after that, in a month or so they will all be covered in corraline!
plus, i may cap off more of the outlets to get more flow from fewer outlets. thanks all for checking out the pics

Awesome. In my opinion, a tank isn't complete without a canopy of some sort... It makes it look so much better. Awesome that you can build your own.

tripp - it seems the trick with them is to keep them off the sand. the sand irritates the outer flesh that touches the ground and stops growth from what i have read.

Hey, thanks, I've never even thought to put it up rocks, I recently had one die and yes it was on the bottom. I guess I wasn't thinking, because they grow all over rocks in the ocean, DUH. The next time I find a really cool one I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for the advice.
