toooo many expensive hobbies!!!

well this is just ridiculous...i want to get into too many things that cost too much money....and I'm sure you all have even more that i....but being in college just doesn't cut it with these hobbies sometimes, lol.....my predicament is this......i have a 20G sw, 75g fw, 2 turtles, and -- trucks (bought 3, finally ended up selling 2,lol)...so with the saltwater Ive prolly put around 1000 maybe....and i know it'll get worse because i love those darn zoos and I'm gonna need more, which means I'll get a bigger tank...haha, and i planned on get around a 29-39 gallon tank for seahorses and tons of zoos...but you know that ll get expensive,lol...for the freshwater I'm sure I've put in a good 500 or so, good thing the fish dont cost so much..except for all the ones i want!!!!
those black ghost knifefish.....-20 a pop, and if you dont have the tank at your house, and have to depend on your fiance's roomie to feed it bloodworms while you are gone for a weekend....ay
So, i've probably
spent a good 1500-2000 on all of my hobbies...and dont get me wrong i love this to death, and would even love opening a pet store(really).....but i have this thing for 4 wheelers. I LOVE THEM!!! i used to get to ride them all the time when my family visited my uncle, well he sold his place, and everything with it, so no more riding....but i have always wanted some.......and well, i have a friend that is eventually going to have to sell the 2 that they have...and i know i can get a good price too.......haha, and i just think about the money i have spent on these aquarium could have gone to a nice4wheeler or two,haha....but i don't want to stop my tanks either...is it possible to stop BUYING stuff for it?!?!?!?! i told my fiance that since i bought her a nice chunk of diamonds, maybe a nice chunk of a 4wheeler could be my "ring" and I'd just use the ring she already bought me fr anyhow...lol.....what do ya think, 4 wheelers...fish tanks.........4 wheelers.......or choose both.....

Start fragging those Zoo's and trade them that will help a little. If you want to stop spending on your tanks, just don't look at anything that will put the idea "wow that would look so cool in my tank". As for what to keep and what to get rid of, that's a personal choice no one but you can decide that. OPh yeah, Black Ghosts are verry cool. How big is yours? They say that they get to about 20" but i've never seen one over 8', I would love to see a 20 incher.

haha..i've tried to keep 2 ghostfish...both ended up dying because i can't count on other people to remember to feed them(special diet, nocturnal etc)...it made me pretty mad, but he was prolly only 3 inches...but they are indeed sweet!...and i do need to frag my zoos, but i wish theyd just spread to frag em instead of my cuttin them up,lol.
i usually frag my xenia and take them, which i can get ok money for, but of course its store credit.....rotten!

I have a 4-wheeler and a 55 gallon tank, a chinchilla, i play softball, and the piano and saxophone. Boy i have some expensive hobbies!

yea, you have a ton of hobbies, you ought to get rid of your atv and let me take it off your hands
i used to play the sax...havent since i came to college

they've had a ghost knife at my LFS store for about 4 months and he's about 4-5 inches long. no one wants him i gues..he's in with some freshwater rays.

Yea i know what ya mean by having too many expensive hobbies. back when i was in HS i was big into 4 wheelers with my dad and we rode them all the time. then i decided i wanted to ride dirt bikes so we sold the quads and got dirt bikes. next thing ya know college came up and i decided i wanted a car. sold my dirt bike and got a nice grand prix. i am going to college for aviation so flying is a big (expensive) part of my life. then i met a friend up here that flies model airplanes, next thing ya know i have 8 of them... now we have alot of hobbies together... including sw tanks, we both have 75 gallons and cant seem to keep from buying stuff when the other gets something better... ya know how that goes. it all seems fun now but those school loans are gunna be a killer. but in response to your question i would keep the tanks and get a quad ya know ya only live once... but ya will have to pay it back eventually.

i have a 4wheeler...i love it just if you get one make sure you have a place to ride and someone to ride WITH...but as far as paying my parents bought me the 4wheeler for my b-day
.....but i pay for the SW fish if that count for anything

World of warcraft - yeah i take it as a hobby since it takes so much time of your life
Computers - I build computers for people and repair for family members
Paintball.
AND I think thats about it.

that's one crazy lawnmower. :notsure: how could you keep up when you hit the nitrous?
i used to throw money at my mustang, but that all stopped after too many tickets. probably dropped $15k on that sucker and $5k on lawyers. now i drive a little piece of junk.
my computer took me quite a bit of money as i started getting into the modding phase 2yrs ago, it's pretty crazy when you make the switch from a prefab computer into customizing and building your own. the xbox360 is proving to be an expensive hobby lately.

aquariums are by and far away the most expensive overall for me though.
