Hello......I just recently purchased a Torch Coral....it has seemed to be doing very well and today when I got home from work I noticed that one of the seven heads was closed up and it was showing one or two little stings of brownish stuff not covering it at all just stinging from it.....not much to it....i have it about 6" from the top of the tank and I have a 175w MH and (2) 65w PC actinics for lights......all other corals are doing fine.....what could this be and should it be a concern??
thanks.......

The "brownish stuff" is probably zooxanthellae purging. This happens to clams, corals, anemonaes (IIRC) when lighting changes. Waste products also look like what you describe.

COOL......I was getting kinda worried there.....and yeah my tank is much much brighter than at the store......well I hope that is all it is....the head that was doing that has opened up for a while and has went back in....and now another head is doing the same thing......and the ones at are doing it are the brownest heads.....so maybe those are the ones with the most zooxanthellae......I guess that makes since.....well thanks for the input guys.....any other thoughts or comments are welcomed! :D
