torch coral ID pelase

I just bought this torch coral and I notice that in the middle of one of the heads, there is an open spot (and there is a white surface around the open spot) where this hand like critter goes in and out
the critter almost looks like a witches hand and it is all white
It stectches out of the torch coral and then retracts very fast and it does this over and over
any ideas

Is it whitish/clear in color? Sounds like a barnacle.

are barnacles harmful to the coral or my reef?

Hiya,
Nope, harmless filter feeder. However, they usually don't survive long in tanks.
