torch & leather dead

i have absolutely no idea what is going on in my tank. It's been up and running since may. after cycling i added a clown goby and a lemon peel, these fish are still doing great. i wasnt sure if i wan't a reef when i first started setting this up but i thought i'd start with reef safe fish and good lighting (which i did). i saw all the pretty pictures on this site  and in some books, did some research (and read a bunch of threads) and decided i wanted one.
well, long story short i am almost ready to give it up. i bought this beautful torch 3 days ago from my lfs that i had literally been eyeing up for 3 months and it's dead
a leather i bought also a month ago died in just a few days after purchasing. i absolutely cannot stand the fact that these corals were healthy and beautiful ( & alive) until i laid my hands on them. the torch makes my the saddest cause ive seen it in their tank every freakin time i've been in there & have admired it, and low and behold im the one who ends up killing it.
i do water changes: 10% every two weeks
0 nitrites
less than 20ppm nitrates
0 ammonia
ph 8.0
calcium is at 400 whatever (i forget but i know it's acceptable)
i even tested for phosphates today -and nothin
sorry for the super long thread but i am frustrated with what i have done and cant for the life of my figure out what could be wrong.
thanks so much for any suggestions on what's wrong or anything else i should test for

Do you have any other corals? Could be a number of things:
Torchs are very receptive to water quality. If I notice anything wrong with mine, I know something may be out of whack with my water.
Lighting may be a factor, if not enough, or old.
Fish may be bothering them.
Double check your water with a different set of test kits.
