I ran middle distance (Mile and 800m) in college. My roommate ran the 400 hurdles. From my own observations of their workouts here is some advice:
1. Form is everything. Work on form over the hurdle and really work on getting your leg over quickly. Getting your leg down quick and back into the sprint helps a lot.
2. Spend time stretching. Being flexible will make holding good form much easier and also extend help extend your natural stride.
3. The 300H (like the 400H) takes endurance. Don't be scared to get some good distance in your workouts in a couple times a week.
4. Work on your steps. Decide on how many steps you are going to take in between hurdles (110H), and drill that cadence into your head. As you get older and more experienced, the number of steps you take in between hurdles will decrease.
Anyway, I hope these things help. Good luck!
