Alrighty, i have seen this on other various forums, and i think it would be great here at SWF.com
OK, the basic idea is that in the signature area, it would display your Live selling/classified trade feedback. for example. it would say "10/0 trader".
there would be different levels of trade. 15-24 positive trades is bronze, 25-49 is silver, 50-74 is gold, and 75+ is platinum. So if someone has 37 good trades and 2 bad trades their signature would say "37/2 Silver Trader". if you see a record of "1/2" you would be warned that this person may not be the best person to trade with.
this could also be used to settle debates between who ships first. a first time trader would ship before a user with "40/0", because the person with the better feedback is more trustworthy. yes, a person 40/0 could go bad, but that would be less likely than a person who joined the forums 30 days ago with 50 posts that say "nice pics".
the trader feedback thread would need to be read thru, recording user names, and how many successful and bad trades had occurred. the list would have to be updated every 1-2 months.
the user them self would be unable to change their signature, only mods or admin could.
basically, this is preventing a person from going on and selling a PPE colony with 300 polyps for 2 bucks per polyp, demanding the other person to pay first, and ending up with a big load of cash. the 1 month and 50 posts thing is not hard to do. i could easily do 50 posts of "do a water change" or "nice pics" in 2 days, and then wait 28 days to scam someone. big scams arent usually found here, but its main purpose is preventing other, less serious matters.
