Transfer and upgrading

Ok we currently have a 90 gallon with sump and are upgrading to a 187 gallon. I want to actually transfer everything as quickly as possible, but am unsure of the best way to do so. We will use the same water, and about another 40 gallons (saved from water changes and circulated for a week-ish), will use all of the live rock (and add more later) and we have new sand. We will also be using most of the same filter media. Will it be ok to add the fish right away? I obviously do not want to lose any of them and am just unsure if they can transfer right away as I hoped. Any info and help is greatly appreciated!

When I upgraded from my 55 to a 125 i did it pretty fast. I put all the rocks in rubbermaid totes with enough water to keep them wet. I used the old sand, I regretted that, and addedsome new as well. I filled the new tank part way then put the rock in and arranged it then added the sand. I washed it well. Filled the rest of the tank and once the water was at the same temp I added the fish. I didn't use much of the old water as I needed it to keep the fish and rocks in while I set up the new tank. The only reason to use old water is it is already made. I had no issues and lost no fish in the process.

Agreed. You can use mostly new water. All the stuff up want is on your rock and in your filter.
