Im getting a tub for my sharks , I think tommorow. Im am transfering my pond now to the tub all at once. I am preplumbing it so I can transfer the sump and hook it up rite away. I am concerned with bacteria and the ph rising or falling becuase I am not transfering the sand. Anyone got any suggestions for me? Thanks

I cant really remember whether you had live rock in the pond or not.
If you do, you shouldnt have too much of a problem since the bacteria lives on the rock...not in the water.
If you were doing nothing but transfering water...no sand or rock...then I'd say you'd have a problem.

I have a peice of dead rock in their only. Do you think I should get some live rock now and put it in the sump. Im transfering it in about a week or two.
It must of been how I resized the pic but it is 9ft.

You're going to need something, from the old pool, that has bacteria on it...filter media, rock, the sand...something.
By just taking water from the pool and putting it in the tub, you're not carrying over enough bacteria and you'll most likely have the problems you're hoping to avoid.
What type of filtration do you currently have on the pool, that the sharks are in now?

Bioball filter. I have a rubbermaid container , and made a trickle system on it. Do you think the bioballs will have enough bacteria on them. I asked my local fish store and they said the bioballs should have enough bacteria on them.

I'd remove the whole trickle filter, not just the bio balls and use it on the new pond. I'd also take out any rock, no matter how small and put it into the new pond.
Also...if you have any filter pads laying around, take them now and put them in the trickle filter. Bacteria will establish itself in the filter pads and will help, as well, when you switch out the system.

Damn, that's gonna be nice.
I wish we couldve met sooner, so I couldve see the layout, in person, while I was still living in Chicago.
Where did you get that pool?
