Transferring from 30 to 75gal tank

I currently have a 30gallon tank that that I would like to move to a 75gal tank. This would require new sand and more live rock.
Should I let the 75 gallon tank cycle with new rock and Sand?
Or is it safe to transfer the 30gallon tank/water to the 75 and put the live stock in right away? I would prefer to do this option.
Any recommendations or techniques?
I don't want to harm my current live stock. 2 Clowns and a Purple Dottyback

You should be able to use you existing rock existing water plus the fresh mixed additional water and add your livestock right away.Just make sure you acclimate your livestock like you normally would and water temp is good.
As far as your sand goes,it depends on a lot of things.
how deep was the sand bed?age of sand bed?.........
If its was a fairly young shallow sand bed ,you could probably use it right away.If it was a aged dsb or ssb you may want to either toss it or keep it in a bucket with saltwater and add a little at a time.Rinse some with old water change water and then add it...... I have done this before.
You could also just rinse it with fresh water and dry it out and reuse it,however any of the live sand benifits you had will be neutralized.

Hello, i am in the same predicament as you. i am going from a 125 to a 260. We took as much sand out of the 125 yesterday, and mixed it with 60 more lbs. so now we have the old and new working together to give the new sand a jumpstart. i am really hopeing that this will work. All of our fish and corals are in tubs along with the LR.This process makes me a nervous wreck, i cant wait until it is complete. Best of luck to you.!!!

So today I purchased 48lbs of live rock and added 70lbs of live sand. Tonight I am going to wait for the sand storm to settle and tomorrow I will fill the rest of the tank up with water.
I am not going to reuse the sand from the 30 because it is not the same color sand. I plan on using the rest of the liverock from the 30 when I move the live stock.
I think i'm going to add the liverock and livestock tomorrow.
Hopefully my fish will be ok. I will have to keep and eye on the params for the next few weeks.

if you have the room to keep both tanks up and running for a week or two to verify you don't have a cycle it would be a good idea. Otherwise it basically sounds like your setting up a new tank.
I recently set up a new tank with new sand and live rock, and used 90% water from my established tank, and it still cycled. However it only took a little over a week instead of a month or more.

I transferred the liverock and livestock into the 75gal yesterday. What a pain that was. The fish seem to love the new space since they were all cramped in the 30gal. Hopefully the tank cycles quick if it does.
Everything seems to be going good, the only issue is that the skimmer pump is really loud and the overflow from the DT is very noisy. Is this normal for most tanks with overflows?
