Transient Bubble Coral

Okay i have a small bubble coral that detached from a rock and has been
floating around for a while now. At first i thought it would attach to another rock. It has had many opportunity's to reattach but has not.
My question is is their any tricks to encourage it to grab hold-
such as putting it in a bowl with a rock and screening over it and putting it back in the tank? like what you do when fragging mushroom corals?
Or mounting it some how?

Don't want to lose it if i don't have to
Thanks

OK i think i figured it out. it's still looks good so it not on its way out

I think its (polyp bail out) like MX on here suggested. because now its starting to change. Its getting white on the bottom so i think its growing a new skeleton with the secretions

Has this happened to anyone else?
Here are some pics
Thanks

Yes, it's polyp bail-out. Be sure that your calcium , alkalinity, magnessium, etc are in good shape so that the coral might regrow it's skeleton. It is quite possible for it to recover, but bail-out is usually caused by some type of stressor.

Yes, document it please - I'd like to see how it goes for you. You should probably post it in the LPS or Coral forums, though.
