transporting fish

ok, I was on the auction site and found this really good deal on a reef tank in south carolina...promblem is, I live in chicago. 14 hour drive, which I will gladly do..... the problem is all the fish go with the tank. I drove out to Detroit last month to pick up the "deal of a lifetime" and it was only five hours.
How do you transport fish over 14 hours? live rock is no problem, live sand is no problem.....can I just bag the fish and make the trip? reef ready tank with stand and RO system with live rock and corals and fish and reef lighting. how could I pass it up?
I need a genius........
gonna rent a mini van for the trip.......need some advice on the fish.

Where, in Chicago, do you live? I just moved back to my hometown, in Southern IL, from Chicago last week.
Anyway...go to your LFS and ask them if they have the styrafoam containers that they receive fish shipments in, from wholesalers. If you can get ahold of Chicago Aquarium, at Clark and Winnemac, they have some. Talk to Ken (he's the owner and a good friend of mine). They just sold their store and are getting out of the business and everything is for sale. They usually have 40 or 50 of those boxes in the basement.
When you get the boxes, see if you can buy the large plastic bags that they ship in.
The thing you have to remember is that these fish get shipped overnight and sometimes 2 day, in these boxes and bags. 14 hours should not be a problem.
The styrafoam boxes will provide enough insulation to keep them warm. It's how I moved all of mine, last weekend.

I have a place in Schaumburg where I can get bags and boxes. I figured it never hurts to ask first before making the trip. I already have a couple live rock boxes at the house (Melrose Park is home to me)
You're right, I suppose the fish get transported all the time in bags, it should work for me.
