Treating ich tank with no fish

I started a formaldehyde/malachite treatment for ich on my 12g FO tank a couple days ago. My only fish passed away this morning, all thats left is a large hermit crab.

Should I continue the treatment to kill off parasites or just leave it alone for 3-4 wks and let them die off on their own since there is no host for them? Would hyposalinity treatment help if there's no fish in there?

I would get all the meds out of the tank by way of large and lots 'o water changes. Leave the tank hostless for a minimum of 4 weeks. Parasite eradicated.

I agree. Get the meds out and I would just leave the tank without fish for at least a month and ick should be gone.
