Trey I noticed yesterday when I got home that there were tiny little bead like bubbles on my sand bed. well tonight they seem to be much more and are all over the bottom. my tank is stil cycling on like its 46th day. nitrites stll reading 2.0. I have a 55 , wet/dry/ about 7 lb lR, 2' SB. no skimmer installed yet. let m eknow what it can be?

thanks for the reply Trey. I am using cycle, but that is all. and as for fish 2 damsels and a hermit crab. I really think it was your first suggestion, it might be the bacteria form the sand dying off, because it only seems to be on the new sand bed. I am going to get 2 power heads tonight or tomorrow morning. I will keep you posted

Diatom algae, which are common in a cycling tanks, will produce oxygen bubbles in the process of photosynthesis.
