Tridacna Clams

Not sure if this is the right thread. But i want to try to breed clams. Has anyone actually done it and want to share some knowledge???

i do not know of anyone who has had success with breeding clams in the home aquarium. ive seen video of clams "spawning" in a home tank, but i dont think he's actually raised them. ive gotta imagine that it is one hard task though.

I think i am still gonna give it a try. And maybe i will have them to sell to all on the forum!! Hey you never know!

Good luck I think you need a lot of water and it needs to be very still with no fish, crabs, or shrimp. A protein skimmer will take out the eggs and larvae. Also they are male and female until they get to a certain age. Good luck, but I think it is very difficult and you need to dedicate a lot of water to just them. Keep us posted though.
