I have recently added a Tridacna crocea clam to my tank. Does anyone have one of these clams and if so how much light and flow do you recomend. Also, is this a good clam to have. Will colors be bright? :notsure:

They are one of the more difficult clams, they prefer to be place in the rockwork, if you want it in the sand you need to let it attach to a flat rock then put the rock in the sand. They require high lighting (preferably MH). You do not need to directly feed it as long as it is at least 4". Flow should be a gentle current, The colors in my experience do not change a whole lot, what you see is what you get (they may change a bit, but if you buy a brownish purple one then it is not going to get those gorgeous greens and blues you sometimes see). I have seen some very colorful crocea's and some very plain crocea's.
