Hey smallfish thanks. I got another one today that is even more blue . I was going to take a picture to show you but when I went to move it, it clammed up.
25 dollars each. They are about 2 inches. I had them delivered today which wasnt very smart because shipping costs were $ 37 .(cant let my wife know about that ) I should have asked first how much the shipping was. So they turned out to be really expensive.
My LFS would have sold them for at least 75, so you made out ok. Where did you get them?
About the crabs, are they still picking? IMO, a new clam will get picked on alittle. They eat the stuff on the shell. They should stop though.
HTH
Are you serious!
I met that guy at my last reef meeting. I've been meaning to call him. I'll be seeing him on the 22 at the next meeting.
Cool, now I got a great reason to call.

seems like a nice guy. I am from danbury,ct and he is from waterbury.I ordered from him before and was happy. I have only ordered from him and saltwaterfish.com and have had a lot of luck. Where and what are the meetings about ?
To your original question, No they will usually not harm a thing. They are just picking food off the shell. Hermit crabs are like cats, they have to check everything out.
As much as you can give them. They are very light demanding. The smaller ones require feeding also to survive. It is recomended for the new hobbiest to buy a larger one. Easier to keep per say..
