do I have to feed him all of those things? I was just wondering bc I was reading what another site feeds thier fish while @ their facility and they named like 5 things...most of o the things you named. I usually feed my fish brine and mysis w/ vitamins. Then algea sheets.
Frozen brine shrimp has very little nutrition. IMO&IME; the more variety, plus vitamins, the better. There is an incredible variety of frozen foods and fresh market seafood available that feeding a variety is easy. RCreations mentioned nori above; every trigger I've had loved the stuff. I'm convinced that most, if not all, fish need some greens in their diet. I've seen triggers feeding on the reef and they get lots of algae along with the food item they're chasing. I even put pieces of defrosted formula II into slits in whole shrimp when feeding my lions on occasion.
I don't feed all those things at once but I try to get all of them in their diet. Like one day I may feed Rod's Food and Mysis, next day I may alternate with Formula 1, a couple of times a week I feed shrimp, squid or clams and so on. Nori I feed every day and all my triggers love it. I agree with srfisher, brine shrimp is useless, I never feed it. There's some in the other foods I feed but brine by itself has no nutritional value.

One good use for BS (I thrive on it!)- when gut loaded with spirulina, its a great way to get fish to eat their veggies.
