Is a Nigertrigger less aggressive than a Picasso trigger (Humu Humu) or are they the same?. And is it possible to know before you buy the fish if it eats inverts? :notsure:

my book says the niger trigger will not eat coral but will eat sponge snails and such , the humuhumu will eat all kinds of stuff, if you want it for a reef you can get a pink tail trigger or a blue throat trigger both do well. but like with any fish it could alsways turn into a coral eatting machine

I agree!

I have kept hermit with Niger and Humu Humu, neither one touch my hermit crab, but he's a large hermit though. Maybe they'll eat him if he's small? My Humu Humu actually backs off the hermit and he's also afraid of him for some reason. :happyfish

I've owned both and I think the Niger is slightly more docile. I have a coral banded shrimp which he never touches.
