trigger tank 55gal

I am wanting to start a tank with a couple of triggers. I have a 55gal avail to use for the triggers.
My question is about compatability. I want a clown trigger for sure, what can I put with him to live in harmony??
Also, what kind of set up should I use inside the tank. Should the tank be left empty of rock etc. What type of live rock? What types of meaty foods are best etc.

Thanks, I was really hoping to have 2 triggers. I will have to adjust to the one or maybe do a humu humu and something else??? Blue throat and Niger triggers??? I hear they are peaceful???
I'm moving into a larger home in a couple of years and will be framing a 220 gal into the wall etc. Trying to get by with the small stuff for the time being.............

Nigers are actually reef safe triggers, and they are peaceful, though I am not sure about blue throats. BUT, nigers stay smaller than blue throats do. No queen trigger though, I saw two at the lfs that were literally the size of a football each. BIG fish.

Though Nigers are considerably less threat to mobile/sessile invertebrates among many triggers, they are certainly not reef-safe. If you want something close to reef-safe (although there is no such thing as "reef-safe" triggers), get a Blue-throat trigger (or other triggers in the same genus). They are one of the most peaceful triggers I've ever seen. I had one a while ago, and it never bothered its tankmates (including gobies) and invertebrates. Also, if you want to have a clown trigger, then the tank must be clown-only eventually. But, you might be able to keep other fishes when he's young.

dont get a niger. the get huge, 19''. Bule jaws get about a foot. If you have to get a trigger get a Undulated and keep him by himself.

Triggers need a 75 gallon tank min and some even need a 125 or larger

Like posted above, the two best choices are blue throat triggers and niger triggers. Regardless, both will get larger, but they are the most peaceful. Nigers are a little territorial at times, so I would also say the blue throat is the most peaceful of the triggerfish.

i know a guy who put a blue thoat in his tank and it ate 5 out of 7 quater sized hippos

wow, that is surprising for a blue throat but then again, that's just this hobby. There's no definites, just people's opinions and experiences.

I'm not sure if I can ask this question, but....where can I go to buy a blue throat other than some lfs?
I am not so sure to buy from lfs due to fish looking thin and sick.
I wish this saltwaterfish.com sold them....
