Trigger Twitch?

Hey,
We just added a Picasso trigger to our aggressive setup yesterday and we’ve noticed a weird “twitching” behavior that he exhibits sporadically. Let me preface by saying that since we’ve got him he’s been eaten great and he is very active, swimming around the tank throughout the day, and shows no signs of distress.
I’ve read on this board that sometimes twitching is associated with fish showing submission to others and to this point I have noticed that he tends to do this behavior when he is around our other fish. I have also noticed that he does it frequently around the rocks almost as if he has an itch (I’ve attached a video link at the bottom showing the behavior).
Any ideas?

That fish appears to be covered in ich (looks like a hazy body to me). The scratching on the rocks at the end of the video only gives more evidence to support this.
If that is the case, hyposalinity would definitely be the treatment of choice.

I think it could be the aquarium glass? We've had fish with ich before and I've fairly familiar with what looks like and it doesn't seem to me that he has any signs of ich??

Well, I just watched it again and it does not look like he has ich right now. It appears as if the ich just fell off a few days ago. If this is the case, it will be back.

You may want to think about hyposalinity, I stopped the video a few times to look at the fins and I have to agree with lion_crazz on Ich, your trigger is scratching not twitching.

I agree, I have a huma huma trigger named Roy, he will do the tail fanning at the other fish but does not do the scratching on the rocks that yours is doing. Not all ick will be visible. I have had other fish get it and would start scratching long before they showed actual white spots. I don't think triggers are ick magnets like tangs are, and they are quick to responsed to treatment. Good luck, I love our little Roy, he is shy and not aggressive at all. But I guess they can SNAP, I sure hope this never happens to mine.

Is there any other option other than hyposalinity? When we had our reef tank I know we used a mixture of Kick Ich and Garlic to get rid of ich on a fish we had. Is there anything else we could use considering its a FOWLR tank that would get rid of it?

It was suggested to me tonight that it may be marine velvet because I looked at him today and there are numerous spots on his body that seem to be "peeling" off and he's light-colored all over, not just in small spots. I'm treating with Rally but are there any other suggestions?
