Triggerfish Compatibilty?

Hi,
I'm thinking of getting a Niger triggerfish but I don't want it to be the only fish in my tank. In a 150 gallon tank, could I put a large angel or some clownfish or some other fish besides aggressive types? I don't see many people that keep triggers with non aggressive fish.... Any ideas?

well dont believe everything you hear nigers can be on the aggressive side, but normally arnt, i had a mean one!. you can keep yellow tangs with them, i dunno about clownfish, they may get harrasses, but large wrasses go well with them a large puffer? harlequin tusk is the best wrasse, check it out.

Yes, I've looked into the harelquin tusk before and it looks like a cool fish but I would prefer some smaller schooling fish. I was hoping that I could keep a trigger with some small(er) fish but, from what I've been reading I don't think it'll work. I would still appreciate some responses on what type of fish can live peacefully with triggerfish. Thanks for everything!

I think it depends on the type of trigger. From what I have read Nigers are not that bad. Eels, puffers, lions, groupers will all be fine with a Niger.

Lets try this from a different perspective. Based on my comp charts these fish will NOT go with a Trigger. Doing it this way since there are fewer no's then maybe's.
Bennies; Cardinalfish; Filefish; Damsels; Mandarins; Pinecone; Drum fish. So you see there are many things that they say can work with a Trigger!

i had a 75 gallon fish tank with 2 big tomato clowns and a niger a little smaller and a french angel and a couple domino damsels they all got along , i don,t think the niger is a tuff guy he looks meaner than he is

From everything I have read and heard it is a crap shoot with the niger trigger, some can be peaceful and some can be mean. IMO I would not put any smaller fish with any trigger, it might work for awhile, but then one day you might wake up and start seeing fish missing. I have a lunare in with my huma humu and I have had not problems. Good Luck
