i just got a huma trigger and put him in a 55 gal tank with an angle, a tang, clownfish, baslet and hawkfish. will he be ok or will he eat my other fish? my father has one in a simular set up and his is cool with all his fish. i just hear there mean towards other fish and will eat the smaller ones.

I think it's best if the trigger is smaller than the other fish... I've read that picasso's can be passive or aggressive.. just depends on the fish... at least you are adding it last... that will help as the other fish are already established... good luck

He will out grow that tank befor he does much harm to the other fish, sounds like that tank is pretty full. Good Luck

guppie is right it does sound like that tank is pretty full, i have a 4 inch clown trigger with damsels and it has beeen about 5 months now and he doesnt even go after them, just because 1 was in the tank first and maybe he cant tell the difference between the others. it all depends on how big the fish is and how big your other fish are and when you got him at the lfs was he living alone in a tank or was he with other fish?

Hi pardner.
I suggest just watch him/her when they get bigger. I have had your trigger smaller & grow and accept the fish it lives with. It's the new additions I have had trouble with. Any new addition that is smaller may be attacked. Even if smaller , estaablished fish already live there. Stress may also make them take it out on their tankmates.
as a general rule keep triggs with other agressive species , other triggs , morays.
you might luck out though, I have.
