Trimming Dogface puffers beak

My dogfaced puffers beak looks to be a bit overgrown. He can still eat and open his jaw pretty wide but the he does have a bit of an overbite. He will not eat snails or anything else crunchy. Sooner or later I'm going to have to trim his beak. Has anyone ever done this before and give me some advice?

There's a LFS in my town that is very into puffer dental work. Aperently they actully put the puffer under during the process.

Not that that helps you any.

Interesting video, but I'd prefer to recommend feeding puffers the foods that they require, emulating nature to the greatest extent, and dental issues should not occur.

Try to get some smaller snails and then crush them at the surface of the water and he should get a taste for them while getting some shell in there.
