ive bought a tropical sea abalone about 5 months ago, i posted about him here because he didnt come out for a week and a person said that its possible they can crawl out of their tanks. hes been out every morning until a month ago he stopped coming out. i thought he was hiding but ive been slowly pulling all my rocks and corals out to put in my new tank and he isnt in my tank, i did check each rock carefuly. how true is it that they can crawl out of tanks? he was very large

It's possible that it crawled out, since some abs can be intertidal species. It's also true that most fish can't pass up an ab dinner, but if that were the case, you'd find the shell. What are its tankmates?

OK...then it's likely not the culprit, besides, you'd have found the shell. Odd how this happens every so often.

Reminds me when I had tree frogs when I was younger, 4 of them escaped, and I found them everywhere in my home. Happy hunting!
