Trouble With GSP!?

I have a large colony of Green Star polyps,and i have read that they are almost impossible to kill.So my problem is that they have not opened for about a month.they have done something like this before but only for like a week. My params are great, but i recently had a small ich breakout with a new fish(he is now fine) so to cure the ich i turned the temp up. could this be the problem. I am now turning the temp back down.This colony is not new and was doing great, the flesh is still intact,but accumulating some algea. Any advice would be great.

blow off any detritus off the gsp, and keep water parameters good. eventually it will open up.

I have been trying to blow it off,and it just dosent want to open . do you think the temp could also be a problem?thanx for the advice.

I've had problems like this with my GSP's too. Are you sure that they are not opening up at all? Mine were fine for months - then one day they closed up and did not open up for a week or two. They accumulated debris and looked pale. I just kept blowing them off with a baster and then started to notice that when the lights were off they were out. I think that each colony has it's own personality just like different fish do. They should come back just fine with time. You can try iodine if you haven't yet (make sure you can test for it tho so that you do not add too much)

Same problem here. I tried everything for a good 4 to 6 weeks or longer.Tried moving the little buggers up, down, flow, no flow
(also same problem with yellow star polyps) then I checked water temp. and found it a bit cool (between 72 and 73).
I bumped it up to about 76 to 77 deg. and out they came, both the green star polyps and the yellow polyps.
Did the temperature make a difference? I don't know. Can you convince me it didn't? Doubt it very much.

Check yours and see.........

I have the same problem. My parameters look fine, my GSP hasn't opened in a few days. and my Pipe Organ is only opened halfway also.
