Tube worm dead or alive????

Help!! I just wole up this morning to find my tube worms "head" on the floor of my tank!!! Does this mean it is dead???? How do I know if it is alive or not?

you mean his feather? They grow new ones.

Most likely you are talking about its crown of feathers. They pop them off at times due to stress, tank conditions, etc. I can't remember the specifics as to why. You can feel the tube, if the worm moves inside then indeed its still alive. I just know the basics, but this will bump ya to maybe get experienced answers.
