Turboflotor 1000

When working properly, I've found this to be an excellent skimmer. The problem is it seems to get clogged very often. The tube that allows the air in gets clogged at the point where it attachs to the fitting between pump and the skimmer. The tube and this fitting seem to be permanently attached. I've always been afraid to pull to hard becuase I wasn't sure I could reattach it. I've soaked it in vinegar, run it while submerged in vinegar. It works fine for a very short time and then the bubbles stop again.
Has anyone else had this problem with this or other skimmers? Any solutions? Any modification possible?

Yes I've had my turboflotor 1000 multi for 3 years and I've had similar issues. I bought a new pump 6 months ago and I'm back to it not running properly. One time the air inlet was clogged with calcium and it never worked the same again. I think saltwater is hard on all pumps especially when calcium and alkilinity are high. I'm going to soak mine in vinegar today and replace my air tubing. These units are designed in Germany and made in China. So good design, not so good manufacturing.

You should be able to replace all tubing? You may want to get some plastic clamps to keep it from slipping.
