I just got my knew turboflotor hang-on skimmer about 2 weeks ago. When we first hooked it up there were some bubbles but, they went away after a few hours. Then about 5 days ago i rearranged the position of the skimmer and shortened the hose that goes from the power head to skimmer and now i have bubbles up the ying-yang and they wont go away. any suggestions on what i can do to get rid of the bubbles????
Any help would be greatly appreciated
TIA

When you say bubbles do you mean bubbles being blown back into the tank? What type and size pump do you have hooked up to it? Do you have a sump?

Thanks for taking the time to answer me.....When I bought it, it came with an aqua bee pump I don't know the size. We unfortunately don't have a sump yet. there are quite a few bubbles being blown back into the tank. Any suggestions??

nightshift,
you mentioned rearranging the postition of the skimmer and shortening the hose. I would imagine you have tried placing it back in the original position and adding a new piece of hose of original length. I had similar problems with my hang on the back skimmer, and eventually went with the sump/overflow/wetdry system, hung the skimmer on side of sump, and was able to add an extension hose on discharge of skimmer deep into sump, and put that hose in a tall glass. Any bubbles now flow into the glass and up to air surface, pop and no more problem. I had read an old post someone had on here and it worked very well.

If you don't have a sump, you can try tying a some sponge in a way that the water flows thru it to the tank. It will take care of a lot of bubbles. I use this method.
