could a turf battle betwen GSP and some Zoas funk up my water bad enough to harm other corals not in proximity?

right now, in disarray.
my frogspawn i watched deflate to a skeleton in 30 min, my kenya just went bleach white and my candy canes are still eating, but receding.
problem is, my gsp was a nice sheet. i've had it 4 months, with no growth.
all of a sudden, in like a 3 day span, its doubled in size and has started growing over a nice patch of my zoos.
i think im going to have to chop-shop that rock tonite, or move what i can and let nature take care of the rest.

CFR, I know this sounds cliche, but water parameters good?
Do you have any leathers? I have tons of GSP taking over as well but not seeing a negative response in my tank other than everything getting smothered. I have gsp growing up stalks of my clove polyps.
Sounds chemical though.

my thought was also chemical.
my sal was low, so that didnt help.
im all flat, except 20 on the 'trates, but i've had that for years.
i dont test alk or cal, since i dont add them. (only via water changes).
my rics have shrunk as well.
i am running a heavy load, though.
wonder if that could be part of it.

I have never done it personally. But I hear activated carbon helps take out any toxins.

Well, change that carbon, do a water change, and try to get that gsp off the zoas.
