turning base rock white

well after a very mis-fortunate event of coming home to see that my tank cracked and my livstock dead on the sand bed I have decided to get out of the hobby for a while to take breather so to speak. On a good side I have a very nice showpiece of some base rock that I just bought before the disater hit. I am setting up a black and white themed room to display my new form of hobby which is now bonsai trees. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone out there has any tricks to turning the brownish gray color of base rock in the nice white skeleton rock. ive tried bleach to start with to expeirment but had no effects. Just wondering if this is even possible.

You can boil the heck out of it. Probably for about a half an hour. It will turn white again and if you ever return to the hobby you will be ready to go with the rock.

you can "sun bleach" it as well. just leave it out in the sun for a few days.
