I'm trying to turn my live rock purple. I've been adding coraline and some other food for lr does any one know something that speeds up the process. I leave the light on about 9 hours

mine only took about a week to start growing after my cycle...
i didnt use anything but i did use a brand new toothbrush and i scrubbed the coraline and then scrubbed the other rocks with it a little.
so if you have any growth, hit it with the toothbrush and then scrub the othe rocks. it also gets in the water when you do this and spreads on its own

calcium and buffer by Kent, MH's 8 hours day worked for me...300lbs with slight coraline to begins with (during the cycle) turned deep purple and some red in about 30 days
I maintain it by using "Purple Up" once a week.

What are your calcium and alkalinity levels? Coralline does not come from food, or food for LR (??). Calcium and alkalinity are two important factors to start with.
