turning on lights in the middle of the night...

i was gone late today so when i returned home i turned my lihgt, which is on an auto timer, on to feed them and when i did my flame hawk was very pale pretty much a whitish pink and my blue devil damsel had turned himself black and my bicolor blenny was also pale is this b/c they were thinking it was night time to them or is this a cause for concern......anyone turn their light on at like 2 in the moring and seen their fish like this?

It's normal. My chromis gets black spots at night and my mandarin gets very pale. I think it has something to do with them trying to camoflauge (sp) themselves.

if you get home that late, you can wait till the next day to feed them. they wont die because they missed a day of feeding. i dont feed my fish everyday, i feed like two days in a row, and then let them graze off the live rock for a day or two.
