Hi!
What is the board using / doing for their twilight hours. example...i have my 250 watt x 3 MH kicking on @ 11am along with my 2 96 watt blue atinic...the MH shut off @ 10pm but I keep my atinic on for an addtional 2 hours. Does anyone kick on their atinics in the am? What is the length of time most use if so?

I have added 2 moonstrips to my tank and run them for 3 hours after everything else goes off. They have a great low light look and it is still bright enough for me to watch what is going on. Their claim to fame is how well they get a lot of the creatures to spawn, but it is way too early for me to verify that.

I only have lights on and lights off in my "test" tank. Now that I know I'm staying with the hobby and getting a 75 gallon I'll be upgrading my lights on it until I get them right.

My actinic come on about an hour and a half prior to my daylight turning on and about two hours after my daylight goes off.

Don't think I am strange, but what are atinic lights? I don't have a clue. I just turn my lights on at 10am and shut them off at about 8pm.

Actinics are blue flo light bulbs. They really add alot of nice color to your tank. You should check them out. There are also 50/50 bulbs that are a mix of this blue and daylight together.

Oh, I do have 50/50 lights. I just didn't know what they were called. I only have them in my mini reef right now as the retro kit is quite expensive. The one for my 32 gal is 200.00 Do you have any suggestions for a cheaper way to go about this. my hood is fit for a marine glo but it does have a reflector on top. What can I use in place of the retro kit? Thanks
