I want to get a Twinspot(Fu Man Chu) Lionfish. I want to get one because it's the only lionfish that wont outgrow my tank. My book(marine fishes)said its maximum length is 3.9 inches and its minimum aquarium size is 20 gallons. Is there any reason why I should not get it?

Well, to be completely truthful with you, that book should be burnt. However, maybe it is useful for other info but it certainly should have more than a 20 gallon tank and it gets to be at least 6 inches if not more in time. 20 gallons, huh? Well, I recommend nothing less than a 55 gallon tank for good room to grow. Also, as far as lions go, it seems to be one of the least hardy lions. It usually is pretty hardy but it doesn't mean that it is easy to care for. It needs more attention paid to it and the water quality should be excellent to provide the needs for it to thrive.

Hard to really tell. But, most seem to grow about an inch every 4 to 5 months. Some are slower growers but if you actuallt tend to it and keep it in good conditions and space it can grow rapidly. But most don't grow too fast. About an inch every 6 months in good conditions but I have seen faster growers.
