Two New Additions on the Way

Just wanted to let all know that I will be receiving two new Pacific black tips in about a week. I was able to get them very cheap, except for shipping costs but still cheaper than here in the states. I will be picking the little ones up at the airport next Friday. Can't wait!

By the way, I still cant make the trip to NC with you. My brother is coming back from Cali for a few days that week and I have to work on that Saturday. So, once again, if you feel sorry enough for me to ship one, let me know. Sorry, I was looking forward to it for weeks.

Even though you can't make this trip. might you be interested in setting up another trip when schedule suits us both? Since I co-own my lab I have lots of flexibility with scheduling and the such. I'll email you and perhaps we can work out a second trip.

It kind of feels like a lost cause now, but about how long do they migrate in those waters? Do they come any further north to spawn? Ive done hours of searching on these sphyrna tiburos but all of the good specific info is nowhere to be found. Hopefully they go later into the summer because it looks like the earliest Ill be able to leave is maybe the end of July/August.

They move into the bays and estuaries to spawn and feed during the summer months. The most productive trip last year came in September with many fish caught. The only problem was that all the bonnets were well over 36 inches. The furthest north is in North Carolina waters. Well I guess a group collection expedition isn't likely to happen. I will definitely keep you in mind while I'm down there. Shipping will be a problem but I can always work out driving one up to you (have always wanted to see New England states).

Yeah, it is awfully gorgeous around here most of the time. Pretty boring though, too. To ease the shipping burden, maybe it could be shipped through an LFS in NC? Ive heard of more than a few stores doing this (for a fee of course) but if you fancy a drive Im about 6 hours from there so we could meet somewhere or Ive got plenty of room where I live.
