I am a newbie, getting ready to purchase some live rock. Went to the LFS, and they have Figi, Tonga, Aquacultured and Maricultured. I'm just looking for the best stuff! The Maricultured seemed to have more Coraline growth. Any input is greatly appreciated...this stuff isn't cheap! Thanks.

How many Lbs of rock do you need for your tank? I'd try getting some of each, you'll get a more diverse collection of critters that way.

The LFS said 100lbs (tank is 135G)would be good, but at 6 bucks a pund, we're looking at $600...so I'm gonna start with 50lbs.

Sounds good to me, I'd still try to mix it up if possible. Remember, rock is good, but your sand is your best filter. Be sure not to buy so much rock that you choke out your sandbed and be sure not to pack the rock too tightly or you may have trouble getting good circulation through the rock. If you get a chance read Dr. Ron Shimeks book called Sand Bed Secrets, a quick read with tons of info.
