ughhh my filter blows

soo i think my filter is too strong, i have Marineland Penguin 200 BIO-Wheel Power Filter, it works great but its putting out too much flow and blowing from the back off the front of the glass and down to the sand which its blowing into the middle back of the tank so it makes a little dune. Its very frustrating. Is this too much flow? if so what filter should i buy that wont blow my sand, anyone have any experience with a 5.5 gallon?

you could always try a smaller HOB. just stay on top of your water a lil more as long as its not creating a sand storm its not to much flow just an eye sore.

yeah its not too much it just lightly blows the sand thats on the front of the tank back and makes a tiny trench/hill that run along the front of my tank.
and Whisk I'm from Pleasanton but I currently live up in rohnert park at sonoma state but i come home for weekends randomly. I plan on buying a lot of my livestock from aquarium concepts and places more close to home because its only an hour and a half drive and they usually have a decent selection. Where would you recommend i go?

awesome, youre not that far at all. Yeah I plan on getting a lot of my stock from Aquarium Concepts, they are pretty knowledgable and they have lots of corals to choose from. Prices are just a little high but nothing too crazy. It's in my opinion the best fish store east of oakland. I been to Wet Pets in Pleasanton, they seem like they are ok, but not much in terms of saltwater. Concord Aquarium has barely anything saltwater, some fish, no corals. And All About Fish in Pleasant Hill I get a weird vibe from, they have a lot of sick fish there, and seems like they would scam you. They got a big store though. Stick with Aquarium Concepts unless there is something up there in Petaluma/Ronert Park. I heard there is also a decent place in Union City and Alameda, but i have yet to go there. Good to meet ya.

yeah wet pets, the guy there is like a Vietnam vet who is crazyyy but he is very knowledgeable and hooks you up with a decent deal, he just doesn't have much as far as coral goes due to the size of his store. Aquarium concepts is pretty legit, but like you said their prices are pretty steep, i worked there for a little bit Ken the owner usually will hook you up with a good deal if you go there enough. Ill have to ask my old girlfriends mom she took both of us to this cool little place somewhere in the east bay by san jose i think

Haha, its funny you mention that old guy at Wet Pets. He was pretty nice. While i was there his wife asked him if he wanted her to go get chinese food for dinner and he was like "i dont eat any of that communist food!" i was laughing. Yeah Ken seems like a nice guy there at AC, hes always asks if i need help with anything, the service there is great. Hopefully I'll be in there enough for some good deals for frequent customers. I plan on getting my LR and fish there. Anyways, sorry i didnt mean to change your thread into a different topic. good talking with ya though
