Uncured rock vs. Pre-cured

What exactly are the advantages of using uncured live rock over pre-cured rock in a brand new tank?
Would it be a bad thing in the long run if I bought live rock from a LFS that's already been cured? If not, would have have to use something else to get a cycle going (or could I just throw it in as is)?
:help: please!!!!!!

Since you have to cycle the tank anyway the uncured would be the way to go since it is also cheaper. If you get cured rock you will still have some die off and can still cycle the tank but why spend the extra $. This site sells some nice stuff to.

If you have "cured rock" shipped to you, you have to "recure" it. Thats what I learned. I ordered "cured" rock and cycled my tank w/ it, because of the die-off, it took a month to cycle, plus washing the rock every week w/ SW. If you run your tank for a week w/ LS and then add LR straight from the LFS, your cycle should be completed in less time.I have been told that you can cycle your tank w/ cured rock in a couple of weeks. At $6.00 a lb, I didn't try this route and your only cutting the time by 2 weeks. I paid $2.00 a lb for Figi rock including shipping, worth the extra wait for me.
