underwater camera

I'm going on a Caribbean cruise in June and I found out just now that Sony doesn't make an underwater cover for my camera (cybertshot DSC-P32). So I decided to ask around on here to see what all most of you have used on your dive/snorkelling vacations. I won't be doing any scuba-diving, not ceritified, but I will be going to a lot of snorkelling sites. I just don't want to buy some random underwater one-time use camera and then have horrible pictures. I want these pictures to be good.

That all depends how much money you have to spend.... I could show you some vacation pics, to the great barrier reef if this board would let me post any. I had a bunch on here a while ago and they suddenly vannished, which sucks, because it took so much time to size them down and crop ect.. I guess it's just some technical prob. Or maybe it's just for a couple of us here. I will try to post again.

I've rented a universal housing for mine in the past. I thing that is a must is a red lens filter. Without it the colors are horrible. And as far as the disposable ones are concerned, don't waist you time.
The universal housing has armatures that you set to your cameras needs. You may want to check with a local dive shop, most that I'm used to have rentals. Also if you want beter pics get a flash.

Yeah, Rach, I remembered looking at your pictures and loving them (if they're the ones I'm thinking of, giant wrasse, moorish idols, etc etc etc) and spent half an hour searching for them last night, couldn't find them. :nope: What kind of camera/housing/lens did you use? I just really don't want to waste the money on disposables and have horrible pictures. But I don't want to waste a ton of money that I don't have either.
