Unknown Critters

I recently have noticed a bunch of little critters running all over my rock and glass. I know it is difficult without a picture but ill try my best. They are whitish in color and about 2 mm long. Easy to see. Up close they look like they have two longer antennae and then little hairs all around their body. their body's are stretched oval shape if that makes sense. And they move very quickly. Anyone have any ideas? Good/Bad?
Second, I tested all my parameters last night and everything was fine except my phosphates. They have been plaguing me for a while. i recently started using RO water and have changed about half of the tank with it but the phosphates are still through the roof...about 4 mg/l. The only thing i can think of is just use the kent sponge for it several times to try and get it down. feeding is non existent at the time being so i dont know what else to do? thank you very much

The bugs you described are called Amphipods (am-fi-pods)- they are good- in that they help clean your tank and the are a natural food source for many animals- So no worries there
About the phosphrous- you say you use RO- un less it is dionized as well, RO units dont take out sillicates and phosphates- if you have a good clean up crew- it shouldnt be too much trouble- but there are sponges that are designed to absorb phosphates- Phosguard is a product i have tried with good results but dont use all the time- Hope this helped.
