Unusual??? CC starfish behavior.

I do not know if this is normal or not. I have always fed my CC starfish shrimp pellets. 2-3 times per week when it comes to the top of the tank looking to be fed. It is great to watch it grab the pellet and slowly maneuver it into its mouth. Anyway, yesterday, I found the starfish wrapped around my lettuce clip I assume eating the remnants of the nori left by the fish. It was kind of cool. When it finally left, the clip was completely clean (my fish always leave some behind.

Sure, I guess if he were hungry, he would eat it..

CC stars eat everything that is offered or left behind. I would feed him a little more often when they come to the water line I think they are hunting for food. mine did this until I started feeding him more then he quite doing it. when they come to the top there are tasting the water (in a sense) to try to find food.

yeah i have a small one.....about an inch. I feed him a krill about every 3 days and he doesnt ever come to the top.

How do you feed him if he doesn't come to the top?

just put the food close to his legs and he will smell it and grab it up .
