2 weeks into the cycle...so far so good. In addtion to my Koralia 4 powerheads...I added 2 more Koralia powerheads #2's in the bottom back corners of the tank for more flow. Those spots seemed to be dead spots. Now even in between the rocks and caves there is some sort of flow. I also put on my T-5 lights to see how much my temp was going up. Here are some pics
Here is the tank. The new powerheads are circled in yellow...obviously. They are also pointed upwards in about a 35% angle
The QT also in the cycle
I put a comp fan in the back/middle to keep my tank cooler or sustained. It does not go past 82.5 degrees at almost the end of the day. The fan comes on with the lights. At night It goes down to 81.
I also added some sand and a few chunks of live rock to the sump/refugium. When the cycle is over Im gonna throw some chaeto in there. I also closed half the top of the sump with left over acrylic and cut out a circle for the skimmer collection cup. I was also having bubbles rush across the top because of the return line so I cut a piece of acrylic (in the yellow circle of the pic) to fit in there. A home made baffle if you will. There was no need for glue because I cut it so that it presses in there and doesnt move. Now the bubbles die down considerably before it even reaches the refugium.
