O.K. for those of you following my poor crab tank saga LOL!I took my kit and water sample to the LFS today and my Nitrite test is right. It's still high. They said I shouldn't change the water. That only help Nitrates?I did by a little LR.The only cured they had was all to big.I did get just over 1 lb of small cured pieces.Hopefully that will help a little.
O.K. are they wrong?Does water changes only help Nitrates?

if there are nitrites then it usual means the cycle is not complete yet, therefore the water change will only slow the process down, next phase in the cycle is nitrates. In answer to your question....they are wrong,in one sense, water changes will remove ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates. Unless your nitrites are very high you do not want to remove them and thus prevent the cyclig to nitrate.

You have been my biggest helper so far.I did a 3/4 water change earlier today.Hopefully that and the little bit of LR will help. What else do you recommend?Moving them isn't an option.I just need this tank to cycle already KWIM!
