Upgrade-to me anyways

Well I probably should've posted pics as I went along but I kinda forgot. Switching from a 75gal with overflow box to a 75gal drilled. Also swapped out cheezy stand for a custom built one. Before anyone gets too upset-I had alot more LR in the orginal tank than whats in the pics. This prject has been going on since the beginning of the year-I'm taking my time to try and lessen any stress on my critters.
Here are some pics of my old setup and then some of my new setup. I want to keep the LR to a minimum in the DT to open up swimming space. I now my Tang should be in a longer tank but Im hoping he'll be happy with me for a few more years.

Heres the new setup-waiting for the matching canopy to be built. Going with a T5 216 watt enclosed unit.

how did you like that wet/dry system?? Is that the TOMS aquatics or something with the builtin protein skimmer?? I'm looking at getting one

The system itself is great-I cant speak highly enough about it. The skimmer worked pretty good but I was running a Corallife Super Skimmer too so it wasnt really pulling much. I think it would be fine running alone.
If your prone to power-outages you have nothing to fear with this unit-it will not overflow and it starts right up again once the power kicks back on.

Nice how much did you pay for it. I think they are over two hundred, did you hafta buy th overflow too or did it come with it

If you build your rock with room behind them, your tangs will have a longer swim space. Mine does not swim from side to side but all around the tank and through the rock, he is very happy I think with a 90g which is only 48 inches. Just a thought, that it might help.

I got it a couple of years ago (for my octopus tank), I think I paid around $200.00. Nope overflow box comes with it-its plug and play (everything included).

Yes I have my LR built up in the middle with plenty of room to swim around and through it. He seems pretty happy and is a great eater.

For more color:
Mushrooms, zoanthids (zoos), ricorida mushrooms, sun polyps (but they need to be fed), acans have some great colors and they're fairly easy corals, some LPS would work too. There are many options. And of course, non-photosynthetic corals have great colors, but you have to feed them.
You could also add color with fish....

Id like to get some Zoos. Acans are easy to take care of? They really are amazing in color-but I know nothing about them. As far as fish go, I want to keep a light bio-load. My tang is a little big for my tank so Im thinking a couple of pearly jaw fish and few more inverts and thats it.

What type of lighting do you have?
And yes, I do believe acans are fairly easy to take care of. As long as your tank is stable, they usually don't have an issue. If you want them to grow quickly, you feed them, but they can survive without manual feeding.
